It is now customary that each year in the Vice-Chancellor’s matriculation speech, first-year students are told, “Don’t let your degree get in the way of your education”.

This year’s Alumni Weekend is being held in St Cuthbert’s Society from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September and we would like to encourage as many of you to attend as possible.
Programme
The format of the Alumni Weekend is as follows:
St Cuthbert's is 125 years old in 2013. There are a number of events planned across the year both in London and Durham. The Association starts its contribution to the calendar by inviting you to attend this informal gathering of old friends.
An opportunity for alumni (and current students!) to get together in one place! It's been a few years since the Association did anything like this so we're hoping this year will be as much of a success as the event held in 2009.
Join us for St Cuthbert's Association London lunch on 27th April 2013 where the Principal of the Society, Professor Elizabeth Archibald, shall be the Association's guest.
The book entitled 'St Cuthbert's Sociey - The history of 'a modest but exciting institution in the University of Durham' was written by Henry Tudor, a former Resident Tutor of the Society.
St Cuthbert’s Association has switched its communications with members from print to electronic format. Costs and a growing membership necessitate this.
To get in touch with any member of the committee, please email contact@cuths.org.
Elected Officers:
"The St Cuthbert’s stereotype is that there is no St Cuthbert’s stereotype. Another result is that the life of the Society is extremely difficult to manage, and successive Principals have adopted the wise policy of not even making the attempt”
[Cuths was] "... nothing like a college. It was essentially a private student club, established to promote the collective interests of its members and governed by its elected president"
Henry Tudor
