Event Details
The 2018 edition of the alumni reunion weekend has a particularly celebratory theme as we push the boat out for the Boat Club's 125th Anniversary.
We hope to host over 100 Cuths alumni - rowers and non-rowers alike - at 12 South Bailey between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th September 2018 for a weekend of good company and cheer (and hopefully good weather).
Details are also on the Facebook event page. Do invite any/all of your Cuths friends and contemporaries. Partners are always welcome at Association events so do bring them along.
Boat Club 125th Anniversary
Founded in 1893, SCSBC has a proud history of providing members the opportunity to row at all levels, from complete beginner to social and competitive rowing. You can see their website at www.scsbc.org.uk.
We hope that generations of Cuth's rowers will come back to Durham for a fun weekend of reminiscing, looking towards the future of the Boat Club, and maybe even getting out onto the water. The Boat Club Exec are working on an exciting weekend itinerary and will publish soon.
All alumni welcome
All alumni and their partners are welcome to every single event we run, and we would love for you to visit either on your own or as part of a group, particularly if you haven't visited in a while.
Itinerary and entertainment
You can see the itinerary and all events for the weekend at www.dur.ac.uk/st-cuthberts.society/scsbc125/.
Bookings and price
Price depends on which of the above activities you want to attend - there are options for you to opt-in to any of the activities, including breakfast, drinks and dinners.
You can choose to stay in Cuths accommodation on the Bailey, or arrange your own locally.

Alumni Association AGM
The Alumni Association's Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 15th September at 11am in the SCR. There are plenty of ways to get involved in alumni life, including organising events and talks, becoming a year group representative, or running for election to the Committee. We would love for you to get involved to further the Association's aims.
At the 2018 AGM, we will be discussing two important topics:
i) How we spend existing reserves to support the JCR: discussing the initiatives which we plan to fund for the benefit of the JCR, its students and its alumni (and agreeing the criteria we use to judge potential initiatives), and
ii) How we can raise funds to continue to support the JCR in future: discussing a fundraising proposal so that the Association can raise money to continue to raise funds for JCR initiatives in future.
We will also be electing a number of committee members and looking for volunteers:
- A new Chair, as Richard Peralta has come to the end of his three-year term
- A Secretary, which is currently a vacant role
- Four elected committee members
- And a number of volunteers, including three co-opted committee members, a website manager, two members of the events committee, and pending agreement in the discussion items above, a fundraising manager
Role descriptions for all of the elected roles can be found here, in the constitution. You can talk to current members of the Committee to ask any questions you may have about either the elected or volunteer roles by getting in touch at contact@cuths.org
All documents for the AGM can be found on cuths.org/agm2018.
