New Vice-Principal appointed - Dr Jon Warren

We look forward to welcoming a new Vice-Principal to Cuths in 2018. Elizabeth Archibald, Principal, shares news of the new appointment:

"I am delighted to announce the appointment of a new Vice-Principal at Cuth’s (this replaces the previous Deputy Principal role). Dr Jon Warren is a social scientist currently working at the Institute for Health and Society at Newcastle University. His work focuses on de-industrialization and how its effects are manifested in the lives and experiences of those living in areas like the North East of England. He has a book coming out on Industrial Teeside: Lives and Legacies: a post-industrial geography. Jon has taught at Durham in the School of Applied Social Sciences and in Geography, and is currently President of the SCR at Trevs, where he is also a mentor.  Jon hopes to start work at Cuth’s at the beginning of April. I am sure you will all make him feel very welcome. He is very excited about joining us.

Andrew Tibbs, who has done such sterling work as our Acting Deputy Principal for the last year, will be leaving at the end of February. I am very grateful to him for all his contributions to Cuth’s, for the innovations he has introduced, and for the tremendous commitment he has shown in a temporary position which at first seemed likely to be only for a few months.  We wish him well in the completion of his dissertation, from which Cuth’s has been a major distraction, and look forward to hearing more about his work on the Romans in Scotland in the future."
